Our members and volunteers

A membership of professionals

Our members are Canada’s actuaries. They protect the public interest and adhere to rigorous standards, share their risk management expertise and produce high-quality research to enhance the value and scope of actuarial science in Canada and around the world. Their professionalism and powerful skills are what keep our organization at the forefront of actuarial research, practice and policy-making.

By the strength of volunteers

Our history is rooted in the strength of volunteers. They founded and continue to grow the Institute through efforts in research, standards development and education. Over 700 CIA volunteers share their time, knowledge and objectivity to help ensure the financial security of all Canadians.

Our strength as an organization is thanks to the dedication and professionalism of our volunteers.
